either way is not fine
Indifference can often lead someone else to make a decision for me so for today my list of indifference is short:
- club sandwiches
Okay, I can’t really think of anything else. I guess everything I’m indifferent about either fades away into the ether or swiftly changes to something I like or dislike. For example:
Q: Where would you like to eat?
A: I don’t care.
If someone responds with “okay, let’s eat at the Spaghetti Factory” I will probably protest.
Q: What would you like to listen to?
A: Whatevs…
If all the sudden I’m hearing Huey Lewis you can guarantee that I will express my opinion…and concern.
Q: Do you want to just hang out at my house and watch a movie or go out?
A: Either way is fine by me.
If watching a movie at home was chosen and the chooser is sitting on the sofa clipping their toenails over the coffee table, next to the bowl of popcorn, I probably would have been more decisive.
So what this particular exercise has taught me is I should always answer those types of questions with a question because answering with indifference just may lead one to a bowl of toenail clippings.
I’ll take that club sandwich now thank you.

I always talk about the things I love so here are the things I do not love:
• candles in jars
• a wet shower curtain near my skin
• things that are “high & tight”
• desperation
• carpet
• hood ornaments
• cancer
• disregard for culture
• french onion dip with bacon
• too much time on the hand
• text message conversations
[it's called 'messaging' not 'conversing']
• not knowing when to let go
okay, that’s it for now. it’s hard to come up with things to not love because I start thinking about the things I hate which only makes me mad. I’m sure that’s what happened in the last two bullet points.
***white bubble*white bubble*make it float away*white bubble***
thank you. I feel much better now that’s off my chest.
Mr.D’s in SoDo is neither loved nor not loved.. Stay tuned for indifferent.

Exquisite Corpse
When I was in NYC recently, my friends and I went from neighborhood to neighborhood cool hunting for inspiration and tasting our way through the delightful farrago of restaurants. As we sat to nosh, drink and drink and nosh, we also lost ourselves in the clandestine world of exquisite corpse making. The four of us took three passes each. None of us consider ourselves sketch artist (it’s quite obvious) but with each pass we became more and more comfortable with what we were doing. I’m not sure if it was the comfort of getting to know one another better or the alcohol. Probably both.
I’m sure you’ll be able to spot which one we drew after 3 bottles of sake.

Paro is the New Therapist
Paro is a harp seal stuffed animal robot, developed by Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Engineer Takanori Shibata said Paro prototypes are being tested in Japan and Sweden at nursing homes, and with autistic and handicapped children.
“We know that pet therapy helps physically, psychologically and socially, and Paro does the same thing for people who are unable to care for a live pet,” said Shibata
It’s amazing to see these old women folk interact with this robot. I wish there were examples of old men letting down their guard for Paro. I would not like to see my 80lb Akita mix puppy interact with it. I think Abe might get a little snacky with it.
